The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ministry of Energy & Water has applied for a grant from the International Development Association toward the cost of Irrigation Restoration and Development Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this “grant” to payments for hiring the services of following qualified national individual consultants.

Position: Data Entry Officer

Grade: D

 

Duty Station: Ministry of Energy and Water, Kabul, with travel to Herat, Kandahar, Mazar-e-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kunduz regions

 

Objectives:

 to assist the project in carrying out various MIS Team functions.

  1. Undertake database management including data collection from external partners, data import and export, data entry, and quality control.
  2. Verify entered data in IMIS by reviewing, correcting, changing or deleting entered information
  3. Generate statistical reports based on maintained data on IMIS.
  4. Prepare periodic, reports, extracting information and preparing statistical tables upon request
  5. Lay-out reports using word-processing, and spreadsheet software; check information and data for procedural accuracy, format and punctuation
  6. Follow data program techniques and procedures to maintain data entry requirements
  7. Check accuracy of simple calculations, coding, and data
  8. Apply strict detail and discipline in data processing
  9. Perform other related duties as required
  10. Prepare and sort documents / data sheets for the purpose of data entry
  11. Working with MIS  and maintain and promote data standards within the departments of PCU, MEW and donor community
  12. Perform document scanning work and link all scams with appropriate entries
  13. Assist in the cleaning, validation and entry of data into the MIS database
  14. Together with the PCU and MEW departments, develop standard data collection forms and reports;
  15. Carry out other tasks as directed by MIS Team and IRDP management
  16.  

 

 

  1. At least Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/ Nature Science or from a recognized University

 

  1. At least 4 years’ experience in Computerize and data Entry typing of English and Dari.

 

  1. Good computer skills

 

  1. The ability to work in a busy environment

 

  1. Good math and English skills

 

  1. An understanding of data confidentiality issues

 

 

  1. Proficiency in MS Office software (Particularly MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Outlook).

 

  1. Good Working knowledge of English Language to comfortably work with MIS and IT.

 

 

  1. Most modern data entry operators work on computers

 

 

 

 

The Project Coordination Unit (PCU) of Project: Irrigation Restoration and Development Project (IRDP) under Ministry of Energy and water now invite National eligible consultants to indicate their interest. Interested eligible candidates must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services and are invited to submit their CV (Curriculum Vitae), including employment records, description of similar assignments carried out, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills etc.

The covering application letter should indicate that he meets all the required qualifications and experience (as mentioned above) quoting references to various paragraphs of CV to demonstrate this.

A consultant will be selected in accordance with Section V Selection of Individual Consultants procedures set out in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004 as revised in October 2006 and May 2010).
