In Laghman province, the works of paving the stream related to the shrine of Mehtarlam Baba have been opened at a cost of 26 million Afghanis.
The project was opened in the presence of the governor of Laghman province, Alhaj Qari Zain ul Abidin, the head of Laghman Sub river basin, Maulvi Sherjan Rashidi, the head of Hajj and religious affairs of Laghman province, Maulawi Faiz Muhammad Haqqani and some local residents.
The construction of this river is 5 km long, one meter wide and 70 cm deep, and is being done by Ilyas Afghan Construction Company with the financial support of FAO in a period of 9 months, In which nets have also been installed to strengthen the stream.
It is worth mentioning that this river has the capacity to irrigate 5000 acres of agricultural land and an aqueduct and two culverts will be built along this river.
