The Ministry of Energy and Water has signed agreements for six important energy projects
The Ministry of Energy and Water has signed agreements for six important energy projects worth $75 million. During a program, the Acting Minister of Energy and Water, H.E Alhaj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, signed these agreements in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Honorable Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar With the Vice President of Awfi Bahram Mines Extraction and Processing Trading Company, Honorable Mawlawi Noorullah Khan.
During the signing, the Acting Minister of Energy and Water emphasized the importance and value of implementing these projects for the development of the energy sector in the country, He stated that the Ministry of Energy and Water is committed to implementing more projects in the energy and water sectors.
These six projects include completing the remaining work on the 500-kilovolt line from Khwaja Alwan Desert to Arghandi, finishing the Arghandi substation, constructing a new substation in the Tarakhel area with a length of 23 kilometers, implementing a 220 KV transmission line from Chamtala substation to Tarakhel substation, and developing the Arghandi-Kabul substation and constructing a new substation at Bot Khak.
The implementation of these projects will enable the import of 1,000 megawatts of electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, ultimately solving the problem of electricity shortages in Kabul and neighboring provinces.
