Technical studies, survey and design works for the water transfer project from Sayad to Kabul city have been inaugurated

SHBased on the order of His Excellency the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him and care for him), the Ministry of Water and Energy has inaugurated the technical studies, survey and design works of the water transfer project from Sayad to Kabul city during a series of official ceremonies.The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Water and Energy, respected Al-Haj Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada Sahib; Deputy Minister for Water, respected Mujib-ur-Rahman Omar Akhundzada; Financial and Administrative Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, respected Maulawi Abdul Rahman Halim; representative of the Economic Commission, respected Haji Ibrahim; Governor of Kabul, respected Al-Haj Aminullah Obaid; Governor of Parwan, respected Sheikh Aziz-ur-Rahman Mansour; Governor of Kapisa, respected Al-Haj Qari Ehsanullah Baryal; Director General of State-Owned Companies, respected Maulawi Ahmad Jan Bilal; Executive Director of the Urban Water Supply and Sewerage State Company, respected Maulawi Ghulam Rahman Kazim; political analysts; officials of the Islamic Emirate; scholars; tribal elders; and a large number of local residents.In his remarks, the Minister of Water and Energy,
respected Al-Haj Mullah Mohammad Yunus Akhundzada Sahib, described the establishment of the Islamic system in the country as a great divine blessing and emphasized the need to give thanks for this immense favor.Referring to the water shortage problem in Kabul city, he described the value and importance of this project as vital for the residents of ancient Kabul city and New Kabul.
He added that the Ministry of Water and Energy is making determined efforts to manage water resources and supply the water needed by the people.He further stated that as a result of these efforts, the people will soon witness the inauguration of the Shah Toot Lalandar Dam, the Bakhsh Abad Dam in Farah province, the expansion of the Dahla Dam, and the launch and implementation of other fundamental projects in the water
sector.Meanwhile, the Governor of Kabul stated in his speech that the implementation of this project will largely resolve the drinking water shortage problem in Kabul city.Similarly, the Governor of Kapisa described the project as a sign of the practical fulfillment of the Islamic Emirate’s commitments to the people of Afghanistan and called its launch an important step toward providing the necessary water for Kabul city.
On the other hand, the Governor of Parwan, referring to the activities and programs of the Islamic Emirate, regarded the start of this project as a valuable achievement in the field of water management and transfer.It is worth noting that the project includes the technical, social and economic studies, survey and design for transferring water from Sayad to ancient Kabul city and New Kabul.
These works will be carried out by the Ministry of Water and Energy with the budget of the Islamic Emirate within a period of one and a half years.Upon implementation, the project will transfer 126 million cubic meters of water annually to Kabul city and New Kabul, benefiting more than seven million people.
