General Director of Kabul River Basin Engineer Habib ur Rahman Haqpal, Engineer Aziz ur Rahman Aziz, Chief Engineer of Underground water, and Technical Advisor of Kabul River Basin, Honorable Rohullah Mayar, visited greenhouses, regressions, the available aquifers and identified suitable areas for groundwater recharge on the foothills of the Qorugh mountain in the 13th district of Kabul city.
Also, the officials said that they managed the Arghandi Valley waters in Paghman district, which have been flowing in the river channel without benefit until now, due to the large existing deep pits, where private companies have been extracting construction materials from the river channel for several years, and it has been turned into large ponds that have the capacity to store 1.94 million cubic meters of water.
The officials of the Kabul river basin are planning to take all the measures that will be effective for the management of the paghman district related surface valleys’ waters.
