The reconstruction of the first phase of the Kharwar Dam project in Logar province has commenced, with a cost of 31 million Afghanis. 
The project was inaugurated in the presence of the Acting Minister of Energy and Water, H.E. Alhaj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, the Honorable Maulawi Zia-ul-Rahman Madani, the Governor of Logar, senior officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and the ethnic elders of Logar Province.
During the opening of the project, Acting Minister of Energy and Water H.E. Alhaj Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor referred to the overall security in the country as a divine blessing. He mentioned that now is the time for economic development and the country's progress. And the leadership of the Ministry of Energy and Water assures the people of Afghanistan that they are genuinely striving to fulfill their responsibilities in this regard.
Simultaneously, Governor of Logar, Sheikh Zia-ul-Rahman Madani, stated during the inauguration of the Kharwar Dam that the officials of the Islamic Emirate are committed to providing tangible services to the people of Afghanistan and will work day and night in this regard.
It is worth mentioning that the construction of the Kharwar Dam began for the first time during the reign of Dawood Khan, but unfortunately, due to some problems, the works remained incomplete. Fortunately, with the efforts of the leadership of the Ministry of Energy and Water and the support of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the reconstruction of this dam has recommenced.
The Kharwar Dam is 36 meters high and 140 meters long, with the capacity to store 17 million cubic meters of water. After completion, it will irrigate about 6,000 hectares of agricultural land, benefiting approximately 13,000 families.
